Changing Your Keyboard on iPhone

Are you tired of using the same old keyboard on your iPhone? Do you want to spice things up and add some variety to your typing experience?

Well, you’re in luck! In this article, we will guide you through the process of changing your keyboard on iPhone, step by step. So let’s get started!

Step 1: Open Settings

To begin, unlock your iPhone and locate the Settings app. It is usually represented by a gear icon. Tap on it to open the Settings menu.

Step 2: Find General

In the Settings menu, scroll down until you find the option called “General”. It is typically located towards the top of the list. Tap on it to proceed.

Step 3: Access Keyboard Settings

Within the General settings, scroll down again until you see “Keyboard”. Tap on it to access your keyboard settings.

Step 4: Add a New Keyboard

In the Keyboard settings, you will find an option labeled “Keyboards”. Tap on it to view all the keyboards currently installed on your iPhone.

  • Add New Keyboard: To add a new keyboard, tap on “Add New Keyboard”. You will be presented with a list of available keyboards.
  • Select a Keyboard: Browse through the list and choose the keyboard that catches your eye. You can select multiple keyboards if you wish.

Step 5: Rearrange Your Keyboards (Optional)

If you have added multiple keyboards in Step 4, you can rearrange their order by tapping “Edit” at the top right corner of the screen. Then simply drag and drop the keyboards into your preferred order.

Step 6: Remove a Keyboard (Optional)

If you no longer want to use a particular keyboard, you can remove it from your iPhone. In the Keyboard settings, tap on “Edit” and then click the red minus (-) sign next to the keyboard you want to delete. Finally, tap on “Delete” to confirm.

Step 7: Enjoy Your New Keyboard

That’s it! You have successfully changed your keyboard on iPhone.

Now, whenever you need to type something, simply tap on the globe icon located at the bottom left corner of your keyboard. This will cycle through all the keyboards you have installed.


  • Set a Default Keyboard: In the Keyboard settings, you can set a default keyboard by tapping “Edit” and then dragging your preferred keyboard to the top of the list.
  • Third-Party Keyboards: If you want more customization options, consider installing third-party keyboards from the App Store. Follow Steps 1-4 and look for keyboards labeled as “Third-Party”.
