How to Change Vibration on iPhone

Do you find the default vibration settings on your iPhone a bit too subtle or too jarring? Fortunately, you can easily customize the vibration patterns to suit your preferences. In this article, we will guide you through the process of changing the vibration on your iPhone.

Step 1: Accessing the Settings

To begin, locate and tap on the “Settings” app on your iPhone’s home screen. The Settings app is represented by a gear icon and is usually found on the first page of your apps.

Step 2: Navigating to Sounds & Haptics

Once in the Settings app, scroll down until you find “Sounds & Haptics” and tap on it. This menu allows you to customize various sound and vibration settings on your iPhone.

Step 3: Customizing Vibration

In the “Sounds & Haptics” menu, locate and tap on “Ringtone” or “Text Tone,” depending on which vibration pattern you want to change. For example, if you wish to modify the vibration for incoming calls, tap on “Ringtone.”

Vibration Patterns for Calls:

If you selected “Ringtone” in Step 3:

  • Tap on “Vibration. “
  • You will see a list of pre-defined vibration patterns. Tap on any pattern to preview it.
  • If none of the pre-defined patterns suit your taste, scroll down to find “Create New Vibration.”

    Tap on it.

  • A new screen will appear with a large gray button in the center. Tap on it to create a custom vibration pattern.
  • Tap and hold on the screen to create a continuous vibration pattern. Release your finger to pause.
  • To adjust the intensity of the vibration, use a lighter or firmer touch while tapping and holding on the screen.
  • Once you are satisfied with your custom vibration, tap on “Save” in the top-right corner.
  • Give your new pattern a name and tap “Save” again.

Note: You can also assign specific vibration patterns to different contacts by going back to the “Contacts” app, selecting a contact, tapping “Edit,” scrolling down to “Vibration,” and choosing your desired pattern.

If you selected “Text Tone” in Step 3:

  • Tap on “Vibration.

    Tap on any pattern to preview it.

  • To create a custom vibration pattern, scroll down to find “Create New Vibration.” Tap on it.

Step 4: Applying Changes

After customizing your vibration patterns, press the back arrow in the top-left corner of the screen until you reach the main “Sounds & Haptics” menu. Your changes will be automatically saved, so simply exit the Settings app when you are finished.
