Changing the time on your Android device is a simple process that can be done in just a few steps. Whether you need to adjust the time due to travel or daylight saving time, this tutorial will guide you through the process. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Open the Settings App

To change the time on your Android device, start by opening the Settings app. You can find this app in your app drawer or by swiping down from the top of your screen and tapping the gear icon.

Step 2: Locate Date & Time Settings

Once you have opened the Settings app, scroll down until you find the “System” section. Tap on it to expand the options, then locate and tap on “Date & Time.”

Note:

If you are using a different version of Android, such as Samsung’s One UI or a custom ROM, these steps may vary slightly.

Step 3: Disable Automatic Date & Time

In most cases, your Android device automatically sets the date and time based on your location. To manually change the time, you will need to disable this feature. Look for an option called “Automatic date & time” or “Use network-provided time” and toggle it off.

Note:

If this option is already disabled on your device, skip to Step 4.

Step 4: Set Date & Time Manually

Now that automatic date and time are disabled, you can set the date and time manually. Tap on “Set date” or “Set time,” depending on what you want to change first.

  • To change the date:
    • Tap on the current date to open the date picker.
    • Scroll through the months and tap on the desired date.
    • Tap “OK” or a similar button to save the changes.
  • To change the time:
    • Tap on the current time to open the time picker.
    • Adjust the hours and minutes using the provided controls.

Step 5: Enable Automatic Date & Time (Optional)

If you prefer to have your Android device set the date and time automatically, you can re-enable this feature. Simply go back to the “Date & Time” settings and toggle on “Automatic date & time” or “Use network-provided time.”

Note:

If you are traveling across different time zones, it is recommended to keep automatic date and time enabled for accurate local time updates.

Congratulations! You have successfully changed the time on your Android device.

Whether you needed to adjust it temporarily or permanently, knowing how to change the time can be quite handy. Remember, these steps may vary slightly depending on your Android version or device manufacturer, but overall, they should help you navigate through your device’s settings with ease!
