Stickies is a great app that comes pre-installed on Mac computers, allowing you to create virtual sticky notes on your desktop. While the default yellow color may be appealing to some, you might want to customize the color of your stickies to make them stand out or match your personal style. In this tutorial, we’ll explore how to change the color of stickies on Mac.

Step 1: Launching Stickies

To get started, open Stickies by searching for it in Spotlight or by navigating to Applications > Stickies in Finder.

Step 2: Creating a Sticky Note

Once Stickies is open, you can create a new sticky note by clicking on “File” in the menu bar and selecting “New Note,” or by using the keyboard shortcut Command + N.

Step 2.1: Customizing Text Appearance

Before we change the color of our sticky note, let’s explore how to customize the text appearance. You can make text bold by selecting it and clicking on “Bold” in the Format menu or by using the keyboard shortcut Command + B. Similarly, you can underline text by selecting it and clicking on “Underline” in the Format menu or using the keyboard shortcut Command + U.

Step 3: Changing Sticky Color

To change the color of a sticky note, first, select the note you want to modify. Then, click on “Note” in the menu bar and navigate to “Color.” A submenu will appear with several color options for you to choose from.

Step 3.1: Using Standard Colors

In the submenu under “Color,” you’ll find a range of standard colors such as yellow, green, blue, and more. Simply click on the desired color to apply it to your selected sticky note.2: Customizing with the Color Palette

If the standard colors don’t meet your preferences, you can access the color palette by clicking on “Other” at the bottom of the submenu. The color palette offers a wider range of colors for you to choose from.

Step 4: Creating Color Labels

If you have multiple stickies and want to organize them by color, you can create color labels. To do this, right-click on a sticky note and navigate to “Label” in the context menu.

A submenu will appear with various label colors. Select the desired color to apply it to your sticky note.

Step 4.1: Organizing Stickies with Labels

Once you’ve assigned labels to your stickies, you can easily organize them by clicking on “View” in the menu bar and selecting “Show Note Submenu.” This will display a submenu with options to filter stickies based on their assigned labels.

Step 5: Saving and Syncing

Stickies are automatically saved as you make changes, so there’s no need to worry about losing your notes. Additionally, if you’re using iCloud, your stickies will sync across all your Apple devices, allowing you to access them from anywhere.

Congratulations! You now know how to change the color of stickies on Mac and customize them according to your liking. Have fun organizing your thoughts and tasks with vibrant sticky notes!
