How to Change iPhone Icons

Are you tired of the same old iPhone icons on your home screen? Do you want to give your iPhone a fresh new look?

Well, you’re in luck! In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of changing your iPhone icons to add a personal touch to your device.

Step 1: Choose a Custom Icon Pack

The first step in changing your iPhone icons is to find a custom icon pack that suits your style. There are several websites and apps available that provide free or paid icon packs.

Some popular options include Flaticon, Iconfinder, and the App Store. Browse through these platforms and select an icon pack that catches your eye.

Step 2: Download a Shortcut App

To change iPhone icons, you’ll need to download a shortcut app from the App Store. One popular option is the ‘Shortcuts’ app developed by Apple. This app allows you to create custom shortcuts for various tasks on your device, including changing app icons.

Here’s how to download the ‘Shortcuts’ app:

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone.
  2. Type ‘Shortcuts’ in the search bar.
  3. Select the ‘Shortcuts’ app from the search results.
  4. Tap ‘Get’ and then ‘Install’ to download and install the app.

Step 3: Create Shortcut for Custom Icon

Once you have installed the ‘Shortcuts’ app, it’s time to create a shortcut for each custom icon you want on your home screen. Here’s how:

  1. Open the ‘Shortcuts’ app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap the ‘+’ button to create a new shortcut.
  3. Select ‘Add Action’.
  4. Search for ‘Open App’ and select it.
  5. Tap ‘Choose’ and select the app for which you want to change the icon.
  6. Tap the three dots (..) in the top-right corner.
  7. Select ‘Add to Home Screen’.
  8. Tap the placeholder icon next to ‘Home Screen Name and Icon’.
  9. Select ‘Choose Photo’ if you want to use a custom image from your photo library or select ‘Choose File’ if you want to use an image from your iCloud Drive or Files app. Alternatively, you can choose an image provided by the icon pack you downloaded in Step 1.

Step 4: Customize Home Screen

Now that you have created shortcuts with custom icons, it’s time to customize your home screen:

  1. Press and hold any app on your home screen until all apps start jiggling.
  2. Tapping the small ‘x’ that appears on an app will delete it, so make sure not to tap it accidentally!

To change an app’s icon:

Tap and hold the app whose icon you want to change until it starts jiggling.

Tap the small ‘x’ on the app to remove it from your home screen (don’t worry, this won’t delete the actual app).

Find the custom shortcut you created in Step 3 and tap the app icon image.

    Select ‘Add to Home Screen’.

Tap ‘Add’ in the top-right corner to add the app back to your home screen with its new custom icon.

Step 5: Organize Your Home Screen

After changing multiple app icons, you might want to organize your home screen for a more visually appealing look. Here are some tips:

  • Create folders by dragging one app icon onto another. This will help you group similar apps together.
  • Rearrange apps within folders by pressing and holding an app until it starts jiggling, then drag it to your desired position.
  • Delete unwanted shortcuts or apps by tapping the small ‘x’ that appears on each jiggling app or shortcut.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully changed your iPhone icons and organized your home screen. Enjoy your personalized device!

Remember, you can always revert back to the original icons by deleting the shortcuts or reinstalling the original apps from the App Store.

Now go ahead and show off your unique style with your customized iPhone icons!
