How to Change Find My iPhone Location

If you’re an iPhone user, you probably already know about the Find My iPhone feature. It’s a powerful tool that allows you to locate your device if it’s lost or stolen.

However, sometimes you may want to change the location associated with your Find My iPhone feature. Whether you’ve moved to a new city or simply want to update the information, here’s how you can do it.

Step 1: Open Settings

To start, unlock your iPhone and find the Settings app on your home screen. Once you locate it, tap on the Settings icon to open the app.

Step 2: Tap on Your Apple ID

Within the Settings app, scroll down until you see your name and Apple ID at the top of the screen. Tap on it to access your Apple ID settings.

Step 3: Access iCloud Settings

In the Apple ID settings page, you’ll find various options related to your Apple account. Look for iCloud and tap on it to open iCloud settings.

Step 4: Locate Find My iPhone

In iCloud settings, scroll down until you find Find My iPhone. This option allows you to enable or disable the feature as well as change its location settings.

  • If Find My iPhone is already enabled, make sure it stays turned on for security purposes.
  • If Find My iPhone is not enabled, turn it on before proceeding further.

Step 5: Change Location Settings

Once in the Find My iPhone settings, you’ll see two options: Send Last Location and Find My iPhone. By default, both options are enabled. However, if you want to change the location associated with Find My iPhone, tap on the Find My iPhone option.

Step 6: Update Your Location

In the Find My iPhone settings, you’ll find a map displaying your current location. To update it, simply tap on the Edit Location button.

Step 7: Enter Your New Location

A text box will appear where you can enter your new location. Type in the address or city name of your new location and tap Done.

  • If your new location doesn’t have an accurate address, provide as much detail as possible to pinpoint it on the map.
  • If you’re moving to a different country, make sure to change your Apple ID region as well for accurate results.

Step 8: Verify Your New Location

The map will now display your updated location. Take a moment to verify that it’s correctly marked on the map. If everything looks good, tap on the DONE button at the top right corner of the screen to save your changes.

Congratulations! You have successfully changed the Find My iPhone location.

  • The updated location will be used for any future tracking attempts via Find My iPhone.
  • If you’re having trouble updating your location or experiencing any issues with Find My iPhone, consider contacting Apple Support for assistance.

Remember, keeping the Find My iPhone feature enabled and having an accurate location associated with it can greatly increase the chances of recovering a lost or stolen device. So, make sure to update your location as needed and stay connected to your valuable iPhone!
