If you need to update or change the credit card associated with your Apple ID on your iPhone, it can be done easily through the App Store settings. Whether you want to add a new card or update the existing one, follow the steps below to get it done.

Step 1: Open the App Store

Start by locating and tapping on the “App Store” icon on your home screen. The App Store icon resembles a blue “A” contained within a white circle.

Step 2: Access Your Account Settings

Once you’re inside the App Store, tap on your profile picture or initials in the top-right corner of the screen. This will take you to your account settings.

Step 3: View Account Information

On the account settings page, scroll down and tap on “Payment & Shipping”. You may be prompted to sign in with your Apple ID password or use Touch ID / Face ID for authentication.

Step 4: Manage Payment Method

Under the “PAYMENT METHODS” section, you’ll find your current credit card listed. Tap on it to view and manage its details.

Step 5: Add or Update Card Details

  • Add New Card: To add a new credit card, tap on “Add Payment Method”. Follow the prompts to enter your new card’s details, including card number, name on card, expiration date, and security code.

Once you’ve entered the information, tap “Done” to save the changes.

  • Update Existing Card: If you want to update the details of your current card, tap on it and select “Edit” in the top-right corner. Make the necessary changes and tap “Done” to save your updated card details.

Step 6: Verify the Changes

After adding or updating your credit card information, Apple may require you to verify the changes. This can be done through various methods such as receiving a verification code via SMS or email.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the verification process.

Step 7: Confirm Changes

Once you’ve successfully verified your new or updated credit card, return to the “Payment & Shipping” page. You should now see your new card listed as the default payment method.

Confirm that all the details are correct before proceeding.

Congratulations! You have successfully changed your credit card on your iPhone.

From now on, this updated payment method will be used for any purchases made using your Apple ID.
