Changing your avatar on your iPhone is a great way to personalize your device and make it uniquely yours. Whether you want to use a photo of yourself, a cute picture of your pet, or even an abstract image, it’s easy to do with just a few simple steps. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to change your avatar on iPhone.

Step 1: Open the Settings app

To get started, locate and tap on the “Settings” app on your iPhone’s home screen. The Settings app is represented by a gray icon with gears.

Step 2: Navigate to your profile settings

Once you’re in the Settings app, scroll down until you find “Face ID & Passcode” or “Touch ID & Passcode”, depending on the model of your iPhone. Tap on it to access the settings.

For Face ID-enabled devices:
If you have an iPhone with Face ID, such as the iPhone X or later models, tap on “Face ID & Passcode”.

For Touch ID-enabled devices:
If you have an iPhone with Touch ID, such as the iPhone SE (2nd generation) or earlier models, tap on “Touch ID & Passcode”.

Step 3: Authenticate yourself (if necessary)

In order to make changes to your profile settings, you may need to authenticate yourself using either Face ID or Touch ID. Follow the prompts on your screen to complete this step.

Step 4: Tap on your Apple ID

Once you’ve successfully authenticated yourself, scroll down until you find “Apple ID” or “Name, Phone Numbers, Email”. Tap on it to view and edit your Apple ID details.

Step 5: Change your avatar

On the Apple ID page, scroll down until you see a section titled “Profile”. This is where you can change your avatar.

For devices running iOS 13 or later:
Tap on the circular icon next to your name under the “Profile” section. This will open a menu with options to take a photo, choose from your photo library, or browse for an image.

For devices running earlier versions of iOS:
Tap on the “Edit” button next to your name under the “Profile” section. From here, you can tap on your current avatar to change it or add a new one.

Step 6: Select a new avatar

Regardless of which version of iOS you’re using, once you’ve tapped on the option to change your avatar, follow the prompts to select a new image. You can choose from your photo library or take a new photo using your iPhone’s camera.

Step 7: Confirm and save

After selecting a new image, you’ll be able to preview how it looks as your avatar. If you’re happy with the selection, tap on “Done” or “Save” to confirm and save it as your new avatar.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully changed your avatar on iPhone. Your new avatar will now appear across various Apple services and apps where your Apple ID is associated.
