Are you tired of your Mac constantly suggesting the wrong information when filling out forms? Well, you’re in luck!

In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps to change autofill on your Mac. With just a few simple adjustments, you can ensure that your Mac suggests the correct information every time. So let’s get started!

Step 1: Open Safari Preferences

To begin, open Safari and click on the “Safari” tab located at the top left corner of your screen. From the drop-down menu, select “Preferences”. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut Command + Comma (,) to open Preferences.

Step 2: Navigate to Autofill Settings

In the Preferences window that opens up, click on the “Autofill” tab at the top. This will take you to the Autofill settings where you can customize your autofill options.

Step 2.1: Edit Contact Information

If you want to change or update your contact information that is suggested by autofill, click on the “Edit..” button next to “Using info from my contacts”. A new window will appear with your contact card.

  • Edit Your Contact Details:
  • You can now edit any of the fields displayed such as name, email address, phone number, and more. Make sure to double-check all information for accuracy.

  • Add Additional Contact Information:
  • If there is any additional contact information that you would like Safari to suggest when filling out forms, simply add it in the relevant fields provided.

  • Remove Contact Information:
  • If there is any information you want to remove, such as an outdated email address or phone number, simply delete it from the corresponding field.

Step 2.2: Manage Other Autofill Options

In the Autofill settings window, you will find other options such as usernames and passwords, credit cards, and more. Let’s explore these options.

  • Usernames and Passwords:
  • If you want Safari to remember your usernames and passwords for websites, make sure the corresponding checkbox is selected. You can also click on “Edit.” to view and manage your saved login credentials.

  • Credit Cards:
  • If you frequently make online purchases, you can save your credit card information in Safari for quick autofill.

Click on “Edit.” to add or remove credit card details.

  • Other Forms:
  • Safari can also remember information for other types of forms such as address forms or search forms. Make sure the relevant checkboxes are selected based on your preferences.

Step 3: Clear Autofill Data (Optional)

If you want to start fresh or clear any previously saved autofill data, you can do so by clicking on the “Edit.” button next to “Other forms”. In the window that appears, click on “Remove All” to delete all stored autofill data.

Step 4: Close Preferences

Once you have made all the necessary changes to your autofill settings, simply click on the red close button at the top left corner of the Preferences window to exit.

That’s it! You have successfully changed your autofill settings on your Mac.

Now, when filling out forms, Safari will suggest the correct information based on your preferences. Enjoy a hassle-free browsing experience with accurate autofill suggestions!
