Step 1: Sign out of your current Apple ID
If you are currently signed in with an Apple ID on your iPhone, the first step is to sign out.
- Open Settings: Tap on the Settings icon on your home screen.
- Your Name: Scroll down and tap on your name at the top of the menu.
- Sign Out: At the bottom of the page, tap “Sign Out”. You may need to enter your Apple ID password to confirm.

Once you have signed out of your current Apple ID, it’s time to sign in with a new one.
- Open Settings: Tap on the Settings icon again.
- Your Name: Scroll down and tap on “Sign in to your iPhone” or “Sign in to your device”. If there is no such option, skip this step.
- Use existing account or create a new one: You can either choose to sign in with an existing Apple ID by entering the credentials or create a new one by tapping “Don’t have an Apple ID or forgot it?”. Follow the prompts accordingly.
- Agree to the Terms and Conditions: Review the terms and conditions and tap “Agree” to proceed.
Step 3: Update your Apple ID settings
After signing in with your new Apple ID, you may need to update some settings to ensure everything is up-to-date.
- iCloud Settings: Go back to Settings, tap on your name, and then tap “iCloud”. Here, you can enable or disable iCloud services as per your preference.
- App Store & iTunes: In Settings, scroll down and tap “iTunes & App Store”. Tap on your Apple ID at the top of the menu and select “Sign Out”.
Then sign in with your new Apple ID.
- iMessage & FaceTime: If you use iMessage or FaceTime, open Settings, scroll down, and tap on “Messages” or “FaceTime”. Tap on your Apple ID and select “Sign Out”. Sign in again with your new Apple ID.
Step 4: Verify changes
To ensure that the change has been successful, it’s recommended to verify that your new Apple ID is now active across all Apple services.
- iCloud: Open the iCloud settings as mentioned in Step 3 and check if your new Apple ID is displayed at the top of the page.
- App Store & iTunes: Open the App Store or iTunes app, scroll down to the bottom of any page, tap on your Apple ID, and verify if it matches with your new account.
- iMessage & FaceTime: Open the Messages or FaceTime app, tap on the compose button, and check if your new Apple ID is visible in the “From” field.
