If you’re tired of receiving unwanted text messages on your iPhone 12, you’ll be relieved to know that there’s a way to block them. Whether it’s spam messages or annoying texts from someone you no longer want to hear from, the iPhone 12 offers a simple and effective solution. In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the steps to block text messages on your iPhone 12.

Step 1: Open the Messages app

To begin, locate and tap on the Messages app icon on your iPhone 12 home screen. This will open up the Messages app where you can access all your text messages.

Step 2: Find the conversation

Next, find the conversation that contains the text message(s) you want to block. You can scroll through your list of conversations or use the search bar at the top for quicker access.

Step 3: Open contact details

Once you’ve found the desired conversation, tap on it to open it. Then, tap on the contact’s name or number at the top of the screen to view their contact details.

Step 4: Access additional options

In the contact details screen, scroll down until you see “Info” under their name or number. Tap on “Info” to reveal additional options for that contact.

Step 5: Block the contact

In the options menu, locate and tap on “Block this Caller” or “Block this Contact.” A confirmation prompt will appear asking if you want to block this person’s texts and calls. Tap “Block Contact” to proceed.

Note:

By blocking a contact, you’ll not only stop receiving their text messages but also their phone calls. They won’t be notified that they’ve been blocked, and you can still choose to unblock them later if you change your mind.

Step 6: Verify the block

After blocking the contact, you’ll be redirected to the conversation screen. You should now see a message at the bottom that says “You will not receive phone calls, messages, or FaceTime from people on the block list.” This confirms that the contact has been successfully blocked.

Step 7: Manage blocked contacts

If you ever need to manage your blocked contacts or make changes to your block list, follow these steps:

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone 12.
  • Scroll down and tap on “Messages. “
  • Under “Messages,” tap on “Blocked Contacts.

  • You’ll now see a list of all your blocked contacts. To unblock someone, simply swipe left on their name and tap “Unblock. “

Note:

If you have enabled iCloud for Messages, blocking a contact on one device will automatically block them across all your Apple devices.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully learned how to block text messages on an iPhone 12. Now you can enjoy a more peaceful messaging experience without unwanted distractions.
