Block Calls and Messages

If you’re receiving unwanted calls or messages, you can easily block them on your iPhone. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Phone app – Tap on the green Phone icon on your home screen.
  2. Go to Recents – Tap the Recents tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Find the contact – Locate the contact you want to block in your call history or search for their name.
  4. Select ‘i’ – Tap on the ‘i’ icon next to their name.
  5. Scroll down – Scroll down and tap on ‘Block this Caller’ or ‘Block this Contact’.
  6. Confirm – Tap ‘Block Contact’ to confirm your choice.

To unblock a contact, follow the same steps but select ‘Unblock this Caller’ instead.

Restrict App Usage with Screen Time

If you want to limit app usage for yourself or someone else, you can use Screen Time settings:

  1. Navigate to Settings – Find and tap on the Settings app on your home screen.
  2. Select Screen Time – Look for Screen Time in the list of options and tap on it.
  3. Tap App Limits – Choose ‘App Limits’ to set restrictions for specific apps.
  4. Add Limit – Tap ‘Add Limit’ and select the app or category you want to limit.
  5. Set time limit – Use the dials to set the desired time limit for the selected app or category.
  6. Tap Add – Once you’ve set the limit, tap ‘Add’ to apply it.

Your chosen app or category will now have a time restriction. When the allocated time is up, you’ll need to enter a passcode to continue using it.

Block Websites with Restrictions

If you want to prevent access to certain websites, you can use the Restrictions feature:

  1. Open Settings – Launch the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Select Screen Time – Tap on Screen Time and choose ‘Content & Privacy Restrictions’.
  3. Enable Restrictions – Turn on the toggle switch next to ‘Content & Privacy Restrictions’ if it’s not already enabled.
  4. Tap Content Restrictions– Select ‘Content Restrictions’ and then choose ‘Web Content’.
  5. Select Limit Adult Websites– Tap on ‘Limit Adult Websites’ to block explicit content automatically.
  6. Add Websites– If you want to block specific websites, tap on ‘Add Website’ under ‘Never Allow’, and enter their URLs one by one.

You can also add websites that are allowed by selecting ‘Allowed Websites Only’. This restricts access to only those websites you specify.

By following the steps outlined in this tutorial, you can effectively block calls, messages, restrict app usage, and block unwanted websites on your iPhone. These features provide a way to customize your device’s behavior according to your preferences and needs.

Remember that blocking features should be used responsibly and with consideration for others’ privacy. Use them to enhance your iPhone experience and create a safe digital environment.
