How to Block Group Text on iPhone

If you’re tired of being bombarded with group text messages on your iPhone, you’ll be glad to know that there’s a way to block them. Whether it’s a never-ending stream of notifications or simply the desire for more privacy, blocking group texts can provide some much-needed relief. In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the steps to block group text on your iPhone.

Step 1: Open the Messages App

Start by locating and opening the Messages app on your iPhone. This is where all your text conversations are stored.

Step 2: Select the Group Text Conversation

Scroll through your list of conversations and find the specific group text conversation that you want to block. Tap on it to open the conversation.

Note:

If you don’t see the group text conversation in your list, it’s possible that it has been archived. You can check your archived messages by swiping down from the top of the screen and typing in keywords related to the conversation in the search bar.

Step 3: Tap on the ‘i’ Button

In the top-right corner of the screen, you’ll see an ‘i’ button. Tap on it to access additional information about the group text conversation.

Step 4: Select ‘Info’

In this menu, select ‘Info’ to view more details about the group text conversation and its participants.

Note:

If you’re using an older version of iOS, instead of an ‘i’ button, you may see a small arrow symbol or a blue circle with an ‘i’ inside. Tap on this symbol or circle to proceed.

Step 5: Tap on the Participants’ Names

Next, you’ll see a list of the participants’ names. Tap on each name to bring up more options.

Step 6: Select ‘Block this Caller’

In the options menu that appears, select ‘Block this Caller.’ This will block all messages and calls from this specific participant.

Note:

If you want to block multiple participants, repeat steps 5 and 6 for each individual. However, keep in mind that this will only block their messages and calls within the context of the group text conversation; they can still contact you individually.

Step 7: Confirm the Block

A confirmation message will appear asking if you want to block this caller. Review the information and tap ‘Block Contact’ if you’re sure about your decision.

Note:

If you change your mind later on, you can always unblock a caller by going to ‘Settings’ > ‘Phone’ > ‘Blocked Contacts,’ locating their name in the list, and tapping ‘Unblock’ next to it.

Congratulations!

You’ve successfully blocked group text messages on your iPhone. You can now enjoy a quieter messaging experience without being constantly interrupted by group chat notifications or unwanted conversations. Remember that blocking participants only affects group texts; they can still reach out to you individually through other means.

Conclusion

In this tutorial, we learned how to block group text messages on iPhone using simple steps within the Messages app. By following these instructions, you can regain control over your messaging experience and have more privacy when communicating with others.
