How to Block a Contact on iPhone

Blocking a contact on your iPhone can be a useful feature when you want to prevent someone from calling, messaging, or contacting you in any way. Whether it’s an annoying telemarketer, an ex-partner, or even a spammer, blocking a contact on your iPhone is relatively easy. In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the steps to block a contact on your iPhone.

Step 1: Open the Phone App

To begin blocking a contact on your iPhone, locate and open the Phone app from your home screen. The Phone app icon looks like a green phone receiver and is usually found at the bottom of your screen.

If for any reason you decide to unblock the contact you’ve blocked, you can do so by following these steps:

Step 1: Open Settings

First, locate and open the “Settings” app on your iPhone. The Settings app is usually found on your home screen and has a gray gear icon.

Step 2: Scroll Down and Tap “Phone”

In the Settings app, scroll down until you find the “Phone” option. Tap on it to access further settings related to your phone.

Step 3: Tap “Blocked Contacts”

In the Phone settings, look for the “Blocked Contacts” option. It should be listed under the Calls section. Tap on it to proceed.

Step 4: Locate and Unblock the Contact

In the Blocked Contacts list, you’ll find all the contacts you’ve previously blocked. Scroll through the list or use the search bar to locate and select the contact you want to unblock.

On their contact details page, tap “Unblock this Caller”. A confirmation message will appear asking if you’re sure about unblocking this contact.

  • Note: Unblocking a contact will allow them to call or message you again.
  • Note: Your previous call history and messages with this contact won’t be restored after unblocking them.
