iPhone, Tutorials

In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to allow pop ups on your iPhone. Pop ups can sometimes be useful, especially when accessing certain websites or using specific applications.

By default, pop ups are blocked on iPhones to protect users from unwanted advertisements and potential security risks. However, there may be times when you need to enable pop ups for a certain website or application.

Step 1: Open Settings

To allow pop ups on your iPhone, start by opening the Settings app. You can find the Settings app on your home screen or by swiping down and using the search feature.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap Safari

Within the Settings app, scroll down until you see “Safari” and tap on it. Safari is the default web browser for iPhones.

Step 3: Tap on Pop-ups

Once you are in the Safari settings, locate the “Block Pop-ups” option and tap on it. By default, this option is enabled to block all pop ups.

Step 4: Toggle off Block Pop-ups

To allow pop ups, simply toggle off the “Block Pop-ups” option. The toggle switch should turn from green to gray when disabled.

Note:

  • If you prefer to selectively enable pop ups for specific websites while keeping them blocked for others, leave the “Block Pop-ups” option enabled and follow Step 5 instead.
  • If you still want some level of protection against malicious pop ups, consider enabling the “Fraudulent Website Warning” and “JavaScript” options under Safari settings for a more secure browsing experience.

Step 5: Allow Pop-ups for Specific Websites

If you only want to allow pop ups for certain websites, leave the “Block Pop-ups” option enabled and follow these steps:

  1. Open Safari and go to the website for which you want to allow pop ups.
  2. Once the website is open, tap on the “Aa” icon in the top-left corner of the browser.
  3. A menu will appear. Tap on “Website Settings”.
  4. In the Website Settings, locate and tap on “Pop-ups & Redirects”.
  5. Toggle off the option that says “Block” next to “Pop-ups & Redirects”.

Step 6: Test Pop-ups

After allowing pop ups, you can test if they are working correctly. Visit a website or use an application that usually displays pop ups. If they now appear, it means you have successfully allowed pop ups on your iPhone.

Congratulations! You have now learned how to allow pop ups on your iPhone.

Remember to exercise caution when enabling pop ups, as they can sometimes be intrusive or carry security risks. It is recommended to only enable them for trusted websites or applications.
